5. Conclusion

5.1 Summary of findings
Our experiment showed the potential of a trebuchet hurling objects far from its starting point. At a national scale, trebuchets are not used very often except for bonding games such as The Trebuchet Challenge (Focus Adventure, 2013). The protocols developed can be easily be adopted by high schools and colleges to teach students about force, fulcrums, velocity, gravity, and parabolic arcs. They are also used as recruiting tools to encourage students into joining engineering programs.  Such ways can involve more people to into learning mechanical design and engineering skills.

5.2 Practical Applications
They can be used to hurl extra pumpkins unused after the Halloween season and cabbages. Also, old cars and pianos are smashed by trebuchets so that they can be reused again. There are several videos in Youtube that show people throwing those items by using a trebuchet.

5.3 Areas for further study
Further study could be done. These are the examples.
Examples
Investigation of the size of the trebuchet affecting the distance of an object.
Investigation of what type of wood would be the best to build a trebuchet.
Investigation of the type of rod used to support the counterweight box.
Investigation of the type of weights used.
